About us
Weightlifting Club Hoorn (WCH), founded by Omar Khathiri, is the place for weightlifting in the region. At WCH you will find excellent facilities and experienced coaches who help you reach your goals.
What sets us apart? The atmosphere. We focus on performance, but we also value a positive and safe culture on the training floor. Every member can grow in their own way, with respect for one another and in a place where safety comes first.
Our coach
Omar Khathiri
Omar Khathiri, born in Tunisia in 1983, is a former professional weightlifter. At his peak he snatched 150 kg and clean & jerked 180 kg.
Today Omar shares his passion as a weightlifting coach, and he recently found new motivation to compete again alongside his coaching. Since returning to Dutch competition he has won several championships. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, he is a striking presence on the training floor.
